FAISALABAD: Five policemen who entered the houses and tortured women in the city have been suspended.

Frustrated with the announced loadshedding in the city, the residents took to streets on Wednesday.

Protestors claimed that they have to endure 14-16 hours of loadshedding on a daily basis.

Protestors also burnt tyres and blocked several roads of Faisalabad while police used baton charging to disperse them.

TV images clearly showed police brutality as they entered homes of several residents of the city with the intention to make arrests. Images showed police assaulting women and using profanity.

Later, at least five police personnel were suspended on the charge that they entered the houses of citizens and tortured their women.

End.
