ERRA releases Rs.125.196 million to 41,732 most vulnerable families in earthquake affected areas

Islamabad: Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) has released another sum of Rs.125,196,000 to the governments of AJ&K and NWFP for disbursement as livelihood support cash grant to 41,732 most vulnerable and needy families of Bagh, Muzaffarabad, and Poonch districts in AJ&K and Abbotabad, Battagram, Kohistan, Mansehra and Shangla districts in NWFP.

Current release is part of the extension of the Livelihood Support Cash Grant Program, which has been extended for 6 months to the most vulnerable families.

The cash grant will be disbursed to the eligible families through their bank or post office accounts maintained with various commercial banks and post offices in their respective areas. The present release that represents payment for two months brings the total amount of disbursement to date of Livelihood Support Cash Grant to Rs.4,235,742,000.

Under the Livelihood Support Cash Grant scheme each eligible family gets Rs. 3,000 per month for six months and the total number of families which are expected to benefit from this program is estimated at 266,000.

The disbursement for the initial six months has already been completed and now the grievance cases are being sorted out by the ERRA for making payments to eligible families.
