ECP all set to suspend membership of 52 lawmakers

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has prepared the notifications for suspension of membership of 52 lawmakers including PPP's Rehman Malik and MQM's Syed Mustafa Kamal upon failing to submit asset details.

However, on Monday, the ECP received asset details of 18 more parliamentarians.

Earlier, the last date for submission of asset details was 30th September; the date was extended till 15th of this month, however later the Commission again extended the date till 21st of this month in order to entertain the parliamentarians because of their busy schedule and Eid holidays.

Out of 52 parliamentarians, who have not submit their asset details includes 3 from National Assembly, 3 Senators, 8 Punjab Assembly members, 11 Sindh Assembly members, 13 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa members and 4 from Balochistan assembly.
