NEW DELHI: Pak-India Dosti Bus faced stern opposition in Amritsar as a Pakistani driver drove through the Indian city, local media reported on Tuesday.

Muhammad Khalil faced a life-threatening situation when protesters stood in front of the bus and raised slogan against Pakistan for 'killing' Indian terrorist Sarabjit Singh. The bus was coming to Pakistan from Amritsar when its driver faced the predicament and was forced to acquire help from the nearing police station.

Finally, a squad walked with the vehicles and escorted the driver to a safe point. Later, Khalil intimated with Pakistani authorities and apprised them of the situation.

Meanwhile, the Indian Border Security Forces on Tuesday opened unprovoked fire at the working boundary in Sialkot district, officials said.

Punjab Rangers silent the unprovoked firing by the Indian troops with retaliatory fire at Samba Sector near Sialkot.

According to reports, BSF personnel opened fire in Chanab Sector and then fired mortar shell in Samba Sector, which landed in Tanda village near the border area.

However no casualty was reported. This was the first incident of firing from Indian forces since tension escalated between the two countries some months ago, which resulted in the killing of four Pakistani soldiers and two Indian troops at the LoC.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office (FO) has issued a travel advisory to Pakistani citizens travelling to various parts of India, stating that they should exercise due caution and care, as reports in the Indian media indicate a threat to their safety and security.

The FO said that Pakistani visiting India, including 600 pilgrims scheduled to visit Ajmer Sharif for the annual urs this month, might be in danger.

End.
