ISLAMABAD: The caretaker Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Soomro has formed a committee to prepare a comprehensive plan to take all the necessary steps for lifting the ban on exports of the fisheries to the European Union in consultation with all stakeholders within three months.

The committee comprises of Mr. Tariq Ikram, Minister of State & Chief Executive TDAP, appointed as Convener, which also includes Secretary MINFAL, Chief Secretary Sindh and Additional Secretary Finance.

The committee would also undertake a comprehensive study inter-alia to resolve the management issues to run the Karachi fish harbour in an effective manner in light of the observations of the European Union, and making recommendations to stop the leakages, if any, in the revenues being collected. The issues pertaining to Gwadar Port, Pasni fish harbor and pollution will also be separately addressed by the same committee in this context.

The committee shall be required to make a presentation to the Prime Minister within ten days.
