Civil war will start if workers pitched against each other: Khursheed

ISLAMABAD: Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Tuesday said that since Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) has no authority to sack the members from ECP, judicial commission is the only forum to remove them and urged Imran Khan to go in the council in this regard. About violence in Faisalabad which took the life of one PTI member the other day, Opposition leader showed sorrow over the unfortunate incident and believed that PML-N government should not have run out of patience if PTI was lodging a protest in the city. “A civil war will start if workers of one political party are pitched against the workers of another party,” he warned.
He demanded the members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) step down over the allegations against them with regard to the general elections of last year.
Shah, who belongs to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), threw his weight behind Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s demand for removal of members of CEC when he talked to media in his parliament house chamber. He said that not only Imran Khan but other parties had also raised questions on ECP. He even extended support to Imran Khan if he goes to Judicial Council against CEC members, which gave a big boost to PTI’s stance about removal of these members.
