Boja Airline Crash: Zardari, Gilani order probe into tragedy

ISLAMABAD: Expressing their grief and sorrow over the plane crash in Rawalpindi, President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday ordered an investigation into the air tragedy.
They also extended condolence to heirs of the victims and prayed to God to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
The president directed the authorities concerned to adopt all-out measures in the rescue operation and information desks be set up in Karachi and Islamabad airports to provide accurate and timely information to the victims families. He said that every possible facility should be extended to the victims families.
Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Director General Captain Nadeem Yousuf Zia has also ordered an inquiry into the crash of a Bhoja Airlines plane, his spokesman Pervez George said, adding that an inquiry team had already left for the site of the crash.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic air crash that killed at least 127 people. In a message to Prime Minister Gilani, Singh conveyed his deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this unfortunate incident.
"I pray that the Almighty grant them the strength to bear their loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Pakistan in this time of grief," the Indian prime minister said.
Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif, Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Information and Broadcasting Minister Qamaruz Zaman Kaira, Senate Chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari and leader of opposition in the Senate Ishaq Dar have expressed shock and grief over the plane crash. They extended their condolence to heirs of the victims and prayed to God to rest the departed souls in eternal peace.
