SUKKUR: The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has decided to introduce its young chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to parliamentary politics of the country.

Sources informed that the party had decided that Bilawal will contest elections for NA-204 from Larkana, which will be withdrawn from Ayaz Soomro.

The sources said that lawmaker from the constituency and former law minister of Sindh Ayaz Soomro has submitted his resignation from the National Assembly seat to the party to make way for Bilawal.

The NA-204 constituency has symbolic importance because former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and late Nusrat Bhutto had been contesting and winning elections from this constituency.

The sources said that it has been decided to make Ayaz Soomro Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Legal Affairs. Soomoro said that he has submitted his resignation from the parliament seat to the party's leadership a month ago.

When contacted General Secretary of PPP Sindh, Taj Hyder, said that he was not sure either Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided to contest by-election or not. As Bilawal is the chairman of the party, there is no restriction on his becoming a parliamentarian. He confirmed that Ayaz Soomro has tendered his resignation to the party.

He said that confrontation with the Supreme Court and Nadra by PML-N created critical position of National Assembly. He advised him to refrain from confrontation based politics and pursue reconciliation policies, which is best in the interest of the growing of democracy.

However, when PPP leader and MNA Faryal Talpur was contacted, she said that the party has not asked Ayaz Soomro to resign, nor he has tendered his resignation.Online adds: Fatima Bhutto, daughter of late Mir Murtaza Bhutto, has started mulling to contest against Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from NA-204.

After PPP decided that Bilawal will contest elections from NA-204 Ghinwa Bhutto summoned a meeting in Al-Murtaza Bhutto House to deliberate over the possibility of fielding Fatima Bhutto against Bilawal.

End.
