Chandigarh: Pakistan's High Commissioner Salman Bashir on Monday visited seriously injured prisoner Sanaullah who is in deep coma.
Sanaullah is admitted at the PGIMER in Chandigarh and continues to be in a "critical" state.
Sanaullah continued to be "critically sick" and in "deep coma", a medical bulletin of the PGIMER (Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) told Pakistani top envoy during his visit.
"He continues to be critically sick in deep coma almost in the same status as yesterday (Saturday) with no neurological improvement. Patient's metabolic parameters are now settling. The arterial blood gases are satisfactorily maintained on moderate oxygen flow. He continues to be on a ventilator. His blood pressure continues to be maintained with three inotropic drugs," S.N. Mathuriya, professor and head of the department of neuro-surgery told Bashir.
Talking to media, Salman Bashir said that condition of Pakistani prisoner was not satisfactory as there was no improvement in his critical condition.
Pakistani high commissioner said that Sanaullah was still on ventilator and could not be shifted to any place because of his serious condition.
He said that Pakistani high commission in Delhi was in contact with Indian government and put their demand to provide inquiry report of this incident to Islamabad.
Pakistani diplomats also visited the comatose Pakistani prisoner on Sunday, who is being treated here after being attacked by a prisoner in a Jammu jail on Friday.
Sanaullah, lodged in Jammu's Kot Bhalwal Jail, was critically injured after being attacked by ex Indian soldier, prompting Islamabad to demand his immediate release and repatriation.
The Pakistani was flown from Jammu to Chandigarh for treatment.
The incident took place a day after Sarabjit Singh, an Indian terrorist, succumbed to grievous injuries sustained in a assault on him in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail.
