PESHAWAR, August 07 (Online): Peshawar Corps Commander Lt Gen Safdar Hussain terming Bait ullah Mahsud as a patriotic citizen said that Bait ullah Mahsud is not a rebel but a soldier of his country adding that 350 terrorists have been killed in operation in South Waziristan.

He expressed these views while talking to reporters here. Corps commander Peshawar said that the details of the agreement between Bait ullah Mehsud and the government cannot be disclosed however Bait ullah is not a rebel but a patriotic citizen and a soldier of this country.

Certain elements have created misunderstandings between him and Bait ullah Mehsud which now have been cleared and now he respects him , the Corps Commander said.

Relaying details of the Waziristan operation he said that 53 operations have been conducted in these areas and 350 terrorists have been killed, out of which 175 are foreigners.

He said that there is complete peace in South Waziristan and now the army is conducting operation in North Waziristan against 70 to 80 foreigners.

Corps Commander said that there is no infiltration going on at Pak-Afghan border as Pakistan Army is keeping a strict vigil at the border.

He said that no one would be allowed to use Pakistani soil for launching attacks on other countries.
