ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the Afghan and Bengladeshi refugees who were born in Pakistan have every right to hold the citizenship.

Addressing the National Assembly session, Khan talked about Afghan and Bangladeshi refugees in the country saying that they were being ‘exploited’ despite living in the country for decades.

“Refugees who have been living in Pakistan for decades are still facing exploitation. Those who are born in Pakistan hold the right to be granted the citizenship,” PM Khan said.

The premier added that Pakistan can’t send back the Afghan refugees. “What’s going to happen to them?” Imran Khan asked the parliamentarians. “We are going to differently deal with refugees who are non-citizens, but those who were born here, where do they go?”

During the assembly session, a resolution was presented demanding to form a parliamentary commission to investigate alleged rigging in the General Elections 2018.
