ASEAN ministerial meeting

Foreign ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) began an annual meeting here Monday morning, discussing human rights body of the regional grouping.
Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand are backing constitution of a human rights body of ASEAN that will independently monitor the human rights issues in the regional countries, while four members of the grouping Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam were opposed to the idea.
Thailand-Cambodia border dispute, assessment of Myanmar Cyclone Nargis disaster, the ASEAN Charter and regional security will be other points of the meeting agenda.
