6 children among 7 killed in roof collapse

FAISALABAD: Seven persons including 6 children were killed when the roof of a house collapsed, in the limits of Thikriwala Police Station on Monday.

According to police, the incident took place in Chak No. 74-JB where some children were studying at a tuition centre run by Hameeda Bibi w/o Muhammad Idrees at her house that was under-construction when its roof caved in. As a result, Hameeda Bibi (45), her four daughters Sana (16), Amina (8), Saba (10) and Sania (11), two brothers Hammad (9) and Bilal (7) sons of Rashid Ali were buried under the debris and died on the spot while five others received critical injuries. The injured were shifted to Allied Hospital.

According to details, people of the area, Rescue 1122 officials and the local police rushed to the spot and pulled the victims from the debris.
