ISLAMABAD: An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale hit Kalat and adjoining areas in Balochistan on Wednesday morning.

Earthquake tremors were felt at about 8:15am. A private news channel reported that the epicentre of the quake was located at a focal depth of 9 kilometres in the southwest of Quetta.

According to reports, the quake created panic among the people, but no loss of life was reported.
