2015 might be general elections year: Imran
25 January, 2015
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday 24,January,2015 predicted general elections might be held this year if the proposed judicial commission into poll rigging takes up the cases pending in election tribunals.
Talking to the media upon his return from Saudi Arabia, Imran blamed former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and former Supreme Court judge Khalilur Rehman Ramday for fraud in the last general election. “We will prove that Iftikhar Chaudhry and Ramday controlled returning officers,” the PTI chief said. He said that the former chief justice committed treason against democracy and should be tried under Article 6 of the constitution. Imran once again ruled out the possibility of the PTI’s return to National and provincial assemblies and warned that any member who violates party policy will be ousted from the PTI.
“We will go to assemblies if the judicial commission declares the election legitimate,” Imran said. He said that the PML-N was scared of the judicial commission.
