Peace in Waziristan
I fully endorse the ideas chalked out by the worthy writer in the article above. Need for the stability with in the country is a must. I would further say, need of the hours is to strengthen our civil institutions especailly police in areas like waziristan and Blochistan and the military force should b earmarked for countering international threats. |

Wise move indeed
The infighting was creating more fundamentalism. Now we have peace and a chance to change people through development. The west was complaining when pakistani soldiers were getting killed and is complaining now, let them continue complaining. |

I agree with Mr. Kiani
I certainly agree with Mr. Kiani about what is best for Pakistan. Every country must consider its own best interests, after all. It's the way of the world, isn't it?
However, when the U.S. considers its own best interests, somehow much of the world finds the country selfish and arrogant. But, somehow, it's different with Pakistan and others.
It's been five years since 9/11 and I understand this now. Before 9/11, I did not.
I do hope this agreement with Waziristan works out. I really do. However, placating certain types of individuals never seems to get anyone to the desired results.
Perhaps this time? |
